A denial of press reports that the Ukrainian government has completely stopped the work of settling Jews on the land was made yesterday by Mr. Kantor, a member of the Central Committee for National Minorities of the Ukrainian government.
“It is true that the land settling work is proceeding slowly this season,” Mr. Kantor declared, “but land has been allocated for the settling of 1800 families, the government and the central institutions are assisting the colonization. The only obstacle is the lack of funds.”
