The Anglo-Jewish leader sharply criticized the Austrian government for its anti-Semitic policies, contrasting the promises made by Chancellor Kurt Schuschnigg in Geneva to the actions of his government in Vienna.
“The terrible tragedy of the Jews in Austria approximates the German-Jewish tragedy,” President Laski said.

Referring to the recent Jewish conference in Geneva, Mr. Laski declared that the Board of Deputies did not participate in the sessions because the board as such had never associated itself with the boycott movement.
