Representatives of 75 U.S. Jewish communities discussed security issues in a conference call organized by the Jewish Council for Public Affairs in the wake of Tuesday’s shooting at a Los Angeles Jewish community center. The New York- based umbrella organization also urged its constituents to reach out to ethnic groups to cooperate in pushing for hate-crimes legislation and to organize prayer rallies and vigils.
