Representatives of European insurers and Jewish organizations convened Wednesday in London for two days of talks aimed at resolving claims dating back to World War II. During the meeting of the International Conference on Holocaust Era Insurance Claims, one of the insurers, Assicurazioni Generali of Italy, presented a CD-ROM containing some 100,000 names and information about policies issued in Eastern Europe before World War II. Officials in Israel plan to use the information to determine how many of the policyholders were Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
