Abraham Stavsky, one of three Revisionists accused of the murder of Dr. Chaim Arlosoroff, today denied categorically on the witness stand that he had induced abdul Mejid, Arab convict, to confess to the murder of Dr. Arlosoroff. The Arab first confessed to the murder while confined in jail for another killing and then repudiated his confession, claiming that Stavsky had induced him to confess by an offer of 1,000.pound

Stavsky declared that he had spoken to Abdul on December 30 in the corridor of the Methim prison in Jaffa. He said that Abdul had asked him in bad Hebrew, “What’s the position now.” He replied, “We are innocent and confident of acquittal.” He then asked Abdul about the status of his case and the conversation died. Stavsky declared that when they metlater they merely exchanged salutations. He denied emphatically that he had ever spoken to Abdul about the murder of Dr. Arlosoroff.

Inspector Shawki Saad testified that he was always of the opinion that Abdul’s confession was false after he had questioned the Arab convict.

Zvi Rosenblatt and Aba Achimeier are held with Stavsky for the rourder of the Zionist labor leader.
