The Austrian Jewish community will shortly file 8,000 applications for compensation under the terms of recent Austrian legislation designed to indemnify victims of the Nazi regime, it was reliably reported here today. It is understood that in addition to the 8,000 claims from resident Austrian Jews, there will be an additional 30,000 from Jews now living abroad.
