A resolution adopted by the legislature of the State of Pennsylvania, calling for American action to stem rising Soviet anti-Semitism, has been referred to both the United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The Pennsylvania resolution noted increased injustices affecting Jews in the Soviet Union, and called on President Kennedy to “restate the position of the United States in opposition to these acts of discrimination against Jewish citizens” and have the American delegation at the United Nations pursue the matter. It also called for furnishing a copy of the resolution to USSR Prime Minister Nikita Khrushchev, and for State Department action.
