The/Rev. Gerald B. Winrod, anti-Semitic, anti-Catholic publisher and preacher who conducted notorious anti-Jewish propaganda during the 1930’s, died here today. He was 57.
The Rev. Winrod was one of a motley crew of anti-New Deal propagandists who charged continuously that the Jews were responsible for Communism and the New Deal reforms. He was accused by many, including clergymen from his own state where he ran for the U.S. Senate in 1938, of being pro-Nazi and receiving Nazi funds for support of his racist activities.
