The controversial British film, Oliver Twist, which has been attacked as anti-Semitic was given the seal of approval here by a majority vote of the directors of the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc., following “extensive eliminations” in the film, it was announced here today.

The announcement did not state the nature of the revisions. Some weeks ago, Joseph I. Breen, administrator of the movie industry’s self-regulatory censorship authority refused to approve the picturization of the Dicken’s story. Objections centered on the characterization of Fagin, a central figure in the story. Eagle Lion Classics, Inc. distributors of the film appealed Mr. Breen’s decision in an action last month, offering to make revisions.
