A tentative agreement for cooperation in security measures and internal affairs of the Palestine Jewish community was reached here early this morning by the New Zionist (Revisionist) Organization and the Histadruth, Palestine Jewish Labor federation. The agreement, which climaxed negotiations that had lasted throughout the summer, is subject to approval by Vladimir Jabotinsky, world leader of the New Zionist Organization. Until that time, its terms will Not be published.
It is understood that the agreement covers raising of funds, participation in the Jewish community’s institutions and the Tel Aviv port, and other points that have long been in dispute between the Revisionists and the laborites.
The negotiations were spurred by the necessity for unity in combating Arab terrorism, but the discussions were broadened to include general problems. Appeals by moderates, together with Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog’s plea made recently in London, encouraged the negotiators. Following a final day and night session at Mayor Israel Rokach’s home here, the agreement was signed for the Histadruth by Eliahu Golomb and for the New Zionist Organization by Dr. David Bukspan.
