All police stations in the Rhineland were today alerted by the provincial Ministry of the Interior to keep a lookout for vandals who desecrated the Jewish cemetery at Niederzissen, in the Rhineland, earlier this week. A reward of 200 deutschemarks has been offered for information leading to their arrest.
A farmer from nearby Hanstedt has been fined 1,700 marks (approximately $400) for calling a cattle buyer for a Jewish client a “Jewish lout,” it was reported here. The farmer also boasted that he was an “old Nazi” and would remain one. The German court which sentenced him ordered the fine turned over to a Jewish orphanage in Berlin.
