The Jewish community here, adopting a plan for united community effort fostered by the National Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds, has set up a Jewish Community Council, which will sponsor welfare fund campaigns to meet the appeals of non-local Jewish welfare agencies, and also concern itself with a program for the general betterment of Jewish communal life in Richmond, leaders of the community announced today.
Henry Raab was elected president; Edwin L. Levy, secretary, and Alvin Hutzler, Richmond attorney, was appointed chairman of the committee to draft a constitution and by-laws.
