The University of Richmond, Virginia, at its approaching commencement exercises, will confer the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws upon Jacob Billikopf, executive director of the Philadelphia Federation of Jewish Charities.
When Jacob Billikopf arrived in this country from Europe as a young immigrant of 12, it was with relatives in Richmond that the lived. Three years after his arrival he had been graduated from the Richmond high school, going on to study at the University of Richmond and the University of Chicago. it twenty he had obtained his Ph.D. Afted two more years of study in economics and applied sociology he began his career in social welfare work.
