The right of self-defense is being tested before Judge Litt in the case of Joseph Kranitz on the charge of attempted murder by shooting at a mob of 300 armed Arabs advancing on the Jewish colony Hadar Ha’Carmel on August 24.
Two Arab policemen are the principal witnesses against Kranitz. They assert that they saw Kranitz fire at the advancing horde after they had failed to disperse the mob. The policemen declared they did not know the exact object of the mob in advancing on Hadar Ha’Carmel.
