An area of 300 dunams in the Judean colony of Rishon Le Zion, 15 miles south of Jaffa, was today invaded by a swarm of locusts. The pests are thought to be part of the swarm that has been ravaging the entire Sinai Peninsula and that has just been off in Egypt.
Government officials, peasants and volunteers are ready to utilize all emergency measures to stem the locusts should the invasion spread.
