A police search conducted in the Nazi Party offices at Altona, the twin-town of Hamburg, has revealed a list of the names and addresses of 264 Jewish citizens of the town, with the file in which it is contained marked “Altona Hebrews. Away with the seed of David: To be arrested immediately and their homes sealed”. A note against the names of the members of the Board of the Jewish Community reads: “Synagogue stallions.

A second list found in the offices consists of the names and addresses of “Jew-suspects”, non-Jews suspected of being crypto-Jews or having Jewish blood, a pretext of the Hitlerists, the Democratic press says in commenting on the find, to get rid of their non-Jewish opponents, Democrats, Socialists and Republicans generally, when they carry out their St. Bartholomew’s massacre.
