The Jewish population in the village of Ruda, near Kattowice, breathed more freely today when a lost Christian child was discovered by the police wandering about in a neighboring village, after having been missing for over twenty-four hours.
The child disappeared from the home of its parents, who are residing in a Jewish house in Ruda. Immediately a report was spread that Jews had killed the child for ritual purposes for the approaching Passover.
This rumor spread like wildfire and caused great anxiety to the Jewish population.
A thorough search by the police in Ruda did not produce any results. No trace could be found of the whereabouts of the child. Christians of the village became greatly excited. Their excitement abated, however, when the child was found.
