A report from Syria today stated that the Arab League Council, following the conclusion yesterday of its session at Bludan, instructed the apposing Arab groups in Palestine–the Arab Higher Committee and the Arab Higher Front–to merge. A united executive was then formed, headed by the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, whose whereabouts still remain unknown, though it is certain that he is at present “somewhere in Syria.”
