An appeal for more care by motorists, motorcyclists and cyclists on the roads of this city and a warning to building workmen when erecting scaffolding have been made here by the Kupat Cholim, Sick Benefit Society, which notes that in one week there were 105 cases treated at the Municipal Hospital here as a result of road and building accidents.
Dr. Marcus, prominent physician formerly of Berlin and now head of the surgical department of the Municipal Hospital, said that ### hospital in the German capital served a district of 400,000 inhabitants in the busiest part of the city, but did not have to handle so many and such serious accidents as occur in Tel Aviv. Half the beds in his department here are taken up with casualty-ward cases, and scores of people remain invalids or cripples, owing to carelessness and negligence.
The Tel Aviv population is urged to embark upon a “Safety First” campaign by reporting to the police all cases of reckless driving.
