Jews in villages on the Slovak-Ruthenian frontier are fleeing in panic to the town of Kosice as a result of pogroms carried out by bands of Russian and Polish deserters from the disbanded anti-Soviet Vlasov and Bender armies.
Jewish leaders today reported that 15 Jews — four men and eleven women – were killed in attacks on two frontier villages. The remaining Jews fled.
