The degree of doctor of letters will be conferred on Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, of the Free Synagogue, New York City, by Roanoke College at the institution’s eighty-first commencement exercises on June 4.
Dr. Charles J. Smith, president of Roanoke, made the announcement yesterday. He also said that Rabbi Wise will make the principal address to the graduates at the exercises.
