Representatives of the American press joined with leaders of Jewish national organizations and of the New York Jewish community at a reception yesterday in honor of Robert H. Arnow, president of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
Edwin Rosenberg, presiding at the function at the Weavers Club, introduced the news agency executive and stressed the importance to the community of the functions Mr. Arnow had undertaken. Replying, Mr. Arnow thanked the community leaders for the expressions of support he had received and said he had accepted a difficult assignment out of the conviction that communications such as the JTA existed to supply were vital to the well being of the community and to Israel. He pledged himself to unremitting efforts to make the JTA as efficient and effective an instrument of the community as possible.
