Robert Seiple was sworn in Wednesday as U.S. ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom. The position was created by last year’s International Religious Freedom Act, which mandates the ambassador to advise the president on matters concerning the persecution of religious minorities abroad. Seiple has served as president of World Vision, the world’s largest privately funded relief and development agency.
