With the United Jewish Appeal campaign scheduled to close Wednesday night, workers here are striving to sign $1,000 more in pledges to bring the drive to a successful conclusion. At a meeting of the executive board yesterday at the J.Y.M.A., Chairman Henry M. Stern reported that $14,000 has been raised.
More than $600 of the total has been contributed by non-Jews, including Archbishop Edward Mooney, Lake Avenue Baptist Church, Monsignor William Hart Donald A. Dailey and the Hickey-Freeman Company. Newspapers are assisting in the appeal by printing subscription blanks.
