American Nazi Party leader George Lincoln Rockwell was under arrest here today on charges of “conspiracy to incitement.” He was arrested Friday, police charging that he has been touring the state to enroll volunteers for a counter-march on Washington on August 28, in opposition to the Civil Rights march scheduled to be held in the national capital that day.
(In New York, this weekend, Louis Mostaccio, a member of the anti-Semitic National Renaissance Party, was given a five-day jail sentence for assaulting a detective during an open air meeting his group held in the Yorkville section of the city, six weeks ago. Wearing a Nazi storm-trooper’s uniform, Mostaccio used a flagpole for attacking a group of persons that tried to break up the neo-Nazi meeting. In the melee, he hit detective John P. Keeney, who was a member of the police detail trying to curb the rioting.)
