Romania’s president agreed to establish a Holocaust commission and develop a Holocaust program in Romanian schools. Ion Iliescu told Daniel Mariaschin, executive vice president of B’nai B’rith International, who was traveling in Romania, that the country would take steps to educate the population about the Holocaust, and that he was sending his education minister to Israel to develop a curriculum for schools.
