A second warning that a Jewish boycott of Italian products abroad would bring serious consequences for the Jews in Italy was given today. Following yesterday’s warning by Giornale d’Italia, La Tribuna declared editorially: “foreign synagogues’ decisions will never modify Fascist Government policies. A realization of the threat will render the situation of the Italian Jews most grave.”
Meanwhile, an official communique announced that the “race problem” will be the first item on the agenda of the meeting of the Fascist Grand Council opening Oct. 1. The council is expected to ratify the Cabinet decree for expulsion of post-war Jewish immigrants and to draft a “charter of race” defining the Jews’ position in political, economic and cultural fields.
