Members of the Rome City Council today asked Mayor Urbano Cioccetti to arrange a memorial meeting on Capital Hill on March 24, the 16th anniversary of the Ardeatine Caves massacre.
In their request the city councilmen said the meeting should be held as evidence of “the continued stern opposition to violence and intolerance.” An observance meeting at the Caves with Catholic and Jewish religious services on March 24 has already been scheduled.
