Special prayers of thanksgiving were offered by the Sephardic Jewish Community here following receipt of a cable announcing that Isadore Kahan, Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Rome, has been appointed spiritual leader of a synagogue in Seatle, Washington. Rabbi Kahan, a Hungarian by birth and an Italian by naturalization, was among those ordered expelled from Italy under the anti-Semitic decrees of last October. He has been Sephardic chief rabbi here for the last six years.
