Promotion of the principles of justice and good will was urged by President Roosevelt as a means of creating understanding and sympathy and a general unity of mankind in a message addressed to the twenty-second annual convention of the United Synagogue of America at the Hotel Willard here.

President Roosevelt’s message was read at the convention banquet tonight by Louis J. Moss, president of the organization.

Principal speaker of the evening was Senator Robert F. Wagner of New York who discussed the economic and social problems confronting America and struck a blow at universal intolerance.
