President Roosevelt sent flowers and a message of congratulation to retired Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis, who celebrated his 84th birthday yesterday. Other messages came from leaders of the bar, former colleagues on the bench and many Zionist groups throughout the country, which held meetings to mark the event.
Mrs. Brandeis told reporters that her husband’s health was good, that he spent most of his time “seeing people” and “helping wherever he can.” Among callers at their home yesterday were Justice and Mrs. Felix Frankfurter. Justice Frankfurter himself has a birthday tomorrow–his 58th.
