Roosevelt Urged to Reopen Case of Jewish Soldier Punished for Protesting Negro Bias

President Roosevelt was urged today to reopen the case of Sgt. Alton Levy, who was reduced in rank and sentenced to four months at hard labor after he had fought against the treatment of Negro soldiers at Lincoln, (Neb.) Air Base. An attorney representing Levy’s father petitioned the President to remedy the alleged injustice done the former trade union organizer from New York City.
