Dudley Sicher, president of the New York Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies, delivered a brief address heartily endorsing the campaign.
Mr. Rosenberg, in the course of his talk, stressed the Free Loan Societies fostered by the Joint Distribution Committee, through which, he said 100,000 loans averaging about $10 each have been made to the Jews of Poland. With such small sums, he said, they are able to make out a livelihood for themselves and their families.
“We need more money to make more such loans to give the Jews of Europe a chance to rebuild their lives,” he concluded.
