Pleading for Jewish unit before a meeting of the Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations of Maryland this evening, Rabbi William F. Rosenblum, of Temple Israel in New York City, declared that American Jews are too willing “to believe that the sufferings of their brethren in other countries are due to particular conditions there which cannot be repeated here.
“Therefore,” he said, “we find on the American scene altogether too many national and local Jewish organizations, each striving to help the unfortunate Jews of Europe” without cooperation amongst themselves.
“American Jews should profit by the experience of their German brethren and effect unity before it is only through unity, he siad, can the American Jew “succed in damming the rising tide of anti-Semitism in this country. If he does not unite, he may find himself overwhelmed.”
