Reporting to the Jewish National Council of Czecho-Slovakia, which was in session here, the President of the Council, Dr. Luowig Singer, said that the Nationalist Jews of the Republic had, in spite of all opposition, shown themselves to be an important political factor in the country. They had shown this also in Slovakia, where the Rothermere campaign for the restoration of territory to Hungary had led to an agitation against the Jews. The Jewish National Party had proved its strength in the last Municipal elections, when it had secured the election of a number of Jewish members to the municipalities.
Reports were also submitted on the position of the Hebrew and Yiddish schools in the country, the affairs of the Jewish communities, the various interventions made for the purpose of obtaining their legal rights for Jews, securing pensions for Jewish State officials, the organization of Jewish students, and the combating of anti-Semitism.
