At the last Cabinet meeting Professor Anghelescu, the Minister of Education, reported on the situation in regard to the minority nationality schools in Roumania. He stated that certain concessions had recently been made to the minorities in educational matters with a view to bringing about a more peaceful relationship with them. Professor Anghelescu announced that a draft Bill is being prepared for introduction into Parliament which will regulate also the conditions in the private schools. The Bill will be submitted for consideration to a special commission on which the representatives of the minority nationalities will be invited to serve.
It is reported from an authoritative source that the Bill referred to contains a number of clauses guaranteeing to the national minorities their right of developing their national culture. Apart from Roumanian language and Roumanian history, instruction in all subjects will be given in the minority languages.
