Confirmation of the report that an attempt at instituting an anti-Jewish riot was made in Buzeau, Moldavia, was contained in a communique issued today by the Ministry of the Interior.

The communique declares that the Ministry has issued an order for the demotion of the Buzeau chief of police for failure to take proper action. The statement names six persons, among whom are students, railway workers and an attorney, who were arrested on the charges of participating in the attack on a Jewish store. Two Roumanian Christians, neighbors who attempted to defend the Jewish merchant, were seriously injured.
