Lieutenant Morarescu, notorious Roumanian Jew baiter and murderer of many Jews, and Zelea Codreanu, murderer of the Jassy Chief of Police, Monchu, were arrested yesterday.
Lieut. Morarescu was arrested in Ojnetz, Bukowina, where he incited the population to an anti-Jewish pogrom. He distributed throughout the city many thousands of pamphlets urging an anti-Jewish pogrom. “I have killed 130 Jews. I will continue to murder them,” he boasted. Codreanu was arrested in Focsany, where he threatened to kill the local chief of police.
