A recommendation to the Roumanian government that it take measures to introduce a numerus clausus limiting the number of Jewish students in the Roumanian universities was made by the College Senate, yielding to the demands of the anti-Semitic student body.

Understate Secretary Angelescu, receiving a deputation of students, intimated to them that practically a numerus clausus system is now in operation.

Two Roumanians, who were tried for murder of Jews in Jassy and Botuschani, were acquitted yesterday. A number of students who were tried for participation in the anti-Semitic student riots were also freed. Anti-Semitic feeling runs high in all parts of the country. Depression among the Jewish population is apparent.
