The Executive of the Jewish National Party of Roumania which had an election pact with the National Peasants Party when it took over the Government under M. Maniu, has decided to-day, after a two-days Conference, not to accept the offer of a renewed pact with the new National Peasants Government formed by M. Vayda-Voyvod.

The Jewish Party will present an independent Jewish list in 70 constituencies, headed by the leaders of the Jewish Parliamentary Party, ex-Deputies theodor Fischer, Josef Fischer, Mayer Ebner, Michael Landau, and M. Misu Weissmann, the President of the Roumanian Zionist Federation. The Party expects to obtain five or six seats.

The Union of Roumanian Jews is negotiating with the leaders of the Parties with a view to entering into an election pact with one of the big Parties in return for guarantees that it will carry through in Parliament the most essential Jewish postulates.

The Zionist Labour organisation, Zeire Zion, which is most strong in Bessarabia, has decided not to stand this time with the rest of the Zionist parties, most of which are organised in the Jewish National Party, but with the Social Democratic Party and the Bessarabian Peasants’ Party led by Deputy Stere.
