Roumanian Jews to Have Representatives in Senate

A concession to the Jewish community of Roumania, concerning its representation in the Roumanian Senate was granted by the government.

The government has finally agreed to reserve two seats in the upper house for Jewish religious representatives. one for the moderns and one for the Orthodox. Originally the government insisted on granting only one seat for the Chief Rabbi of Bucharest.

The “Curierul Israelit” states that it learns that King Ferdinand has shown reluctance in confirming the reinstallation of Professor Alexander Cuza to professorship at Jassy University.
