King Carol of Roumania today publicly expressed disapproval of racial and religious discriminations in the kingdom and declared that they would not be tolerated.
“Our desire for peace in our international relations,” the Roumanian ruler declared in a press interview today, “necessitates the enforcement of peace also in my country where all citizens, regardless of their race or religion, are urged by me to work for the common good.”
The king’s remarks were taken as definite assurance that racial and religious discriminations would not be tolerated in Roumania and as tacit approval of the actions of the Duca government in banning the anti-Semitic, anti-government organizations.
