Modification of the order for the dismissal of all Jewish officials of the Jewish school system who have not completed their studies at secondary schools has been brought about by the Ministry of Education.
The modification of the new decree followed representations made to the Ministry by the Jewish Deputy, Michael Landau.
As the order stood in its original form, the position of Jewish teachers in Jewish communal schools was threatened.
Deputy Landau pointed out that the majority of Jews were prevented from attending secondary schools.
As a result the Minister of Education modified the order so that now the requirement is only for a generally satisfactory standard of education.
