Damages of a million lei from a group of Jewish Deputies and Jewish Senators was asked by Professor Corneliu Sumuleanu, of Jassy University, because he was named as the instigator of the recent anti-Jewish excesses at Jassy University, in a memorandum submitted by the Jewish deputies to the government.

When Professor Sumuleanu was notified of the complaint, he lodged a counter claim for damages. The trial which is to take place on October 24 is awaited with great interest here since some of the most important Jewish leaders in Roumania are involved.

Deputies Meyer Ebner, Michael Landau and Joseph Fischer and Senators Niemirover, Max Aus-schnitt and Zipstein are among the group from whom Professor Sumuleanu asks damages.
