By a vote of the majority, the Roumanian Parliament declared the government bill for amending the religious law, already passed by the Senate, “to be an urgent motion,” giving it priority on the calendar. An early vote on the bill is therefore expected.
This was done at the urging of the Minister of Religion. Jewish leaders in Roumania continue to protest against the bill. The National Club as well as the Union of Roumanian Jews in Bucharest, issued a call for protest meetings to be held.
