The anti-Semitic excesses of Roumanian students against the Jewish population continued yesterday in the city of Jassy, according to despatches received here. The excesses assumed larger proportions and caused panic among the Jewish population.
Members of anti-Semitic student organizations marching in groups continued their vandalism, sinashing the windows of Jewish houses, forcing open and ransacking many Jewish stores which were closed in fear of an attack.
The excesses, which continued late into the evening, were not stopped by the intervention of the police which proved inadequate.
The number of Jews who were injured could not be ascertained nor could the amount of the damages be estimated as yet.
In fear of further excesses, the Jewish population of the city did not dare to leave their houses.
