Israeli geologists have reported finding “vast water resources” under the surface of the Sinai Desert which, if tapped, could transform the entire region into an arable one. According to Prof. Jacob Bentor, head of the Hebrew University’s geology department, the water lies at depths of several hundred yards and bringing it to the surface would be “an enormous task.”
