Complete rout of Arab rebel forces in Palestine was set off by the flight and surrender in Syria yesterday of their commander-in-chief, Aref Abdul Razek, it was indicated in British military circles here today. Terrorist groups throughout Palestine were said to be disbanding and fleeing to Syria.
The main supply base of Abu Dura, the most important remaining band leader, was discovered at Silat el Hartiya, near Nablus. The cache contained a machine gun, 69 rifles, five land mines, a number of bombs, considerable ammunition, Very signal lights and a supply of gelignite, a gelatine dynamite. Also in the store were a number of field telephones, documents and uniforms, including one belonging to Abu Dura.
