The King and Queen of England, accompanied by the King and Queen of Italy, on their tour of the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley, paid a special visit to the Palestine-Cyprus Pavilion, where they were given a reception by a special Zionist committee, under the leadership of Sir Alfred Mond.

After the tour, the royal visitors lunched at the British Government Pavilion, where they were served with a dessert consisting of Jaffa oranges brought in from the Palestine Pavilion by a small Palestinian pageboy dressed in the Hebrew national costume.
