Rubble from Israel’s former settlements in the Gaza Strip likely will be used to pave Palestinian roads, a U.N. official said. “Most of the concrete could be used for a variety of uses, and probably it would be turned over to the Palestinian Authority,” Timothy Rothermel, special representative for the United Nations Development Program, told Reuters on Monday. “A base coat for roads is probably the primary interest.”
